In a recent development, the CBI has listed YSRCP MP YS Avinash Reddy as accused number eight (A8) in the case. This declaration was made by the CBI in a counter-petition filed in the special court for CBI cases while opposing bail for Avinash Reddy's father, Bhaskar Reddy. Previously, the CBI had referred to Avinash Reddy as a co-accused in the case, but had not formally declared him as an accused.
