🦊🫠 This piece is about a subject that is close to my heart: wild animals lives matter... And so-called "vermins"/"pest" matter too. On an online scientific database where we can post observations of species we encounter and contribute to important datas about these species I saw a user that is posting trophy hunting pics, and I stumbled upon because of this fox picture. In Nevada, Vulpes vulpes (red fox) is classified as "vulnerable". The subspecies Sierra Nevada (vulpes vulpes necator) is critically endangered. Mostly because of humans activities and climate change. But it is allowed to hunt foxes there. Because you know, "foxes are vermin". That disgusts me to see people like that trying to use a scientific database for trophy hunt collecting purpose. They don't even AT LEAST annotate the pictures as "dead animals" so we could filter them out when helping people to identify animals and contributing to the database. The person is holding the fox by its hind legs like a common trash bag with a big smile. Not even a decent photo. Not even an ounce of respect for the life that was taken. I tried to fight for this fox, as the website/app is not "endorsing" pictures of animals that were killed for the purpose of the observations in the guidelines. But moderators didn't listen to anything, and said it was allowed btw. I swear I fought. I tried to open a post on the forum about not even prohibiting hunting pics but adding a filter feature so we don't have to see these unnatural deaths pictures, but mods closed my post really quickly, and they did that to everyone who tried before me. We can't even have a FILTER. This website/app was a comfort place to me as a nature lover but I guess it isn't that much anymore And idc if someone from there stumble on my video and knows about this and is upset at me for telling a truth we can't tell on the forums dedicated to "discussions" and "features requests". I'm mad and I'm right to be. Also, I'm against any fox hunting. Even if it isn't "vulnerable".
