The United States Women's National Team has won the gold medal in soccer, defeating Japan 2-1. Carli Lloyd scored a pair of goals while Japan's Ogimi scored the lone goal for Japan. It was redemption for the Americans as they lost the 2011 World Cup to Japan on penalty kicks.
