I’m not going to lie..this is a pretty cool-looking case. Bright colors, fun design, way different from the typical boring clear cases and black bricks. But once you get past the looks, the TORRAS Ostand Q3 Air has a long way to go when it comes to actual protection. Let’s talk about it. TORRAS Ostand Q3 Air for iPhone 17 Pro Case with 360 Magnetic Stand, Fit for MagSafe, Mil-Grade Drop Tested, Camera Control Button, Shockproof Phone Case Review -i don't even know where to start with this case design wise -there's giant air pockets along the top and bottom of the case -the PC back has a frosted finish that has a bit of tack to it -the edge has 2-3 types of TPU I think -this frosted stuff, the air pocket stuff and the bright blue stuff -lots of stuff -Torras has added a ton of prints to the case which seem extraneous -prints like this corner thing that looks like the feet you'd find on other cases -this case has this annoying stand build into it -I really don't like this -BUT with Torras newer cases, they have a rotating stand which works way better -now visually, you'd think this case is super grippy -it has a TPU edge -there's these grip strips -BUT the reality is the case is super slick -almost handles like a wet bar of soap -the only saving grace are the air pockets that have a tacky finish to it -case is going to add 53g to your iPhone, which is pretty average -bulk wise, going to increase the size of your iPhone by 71% -alright, for drop protection, -Torras claims this case has a 100% rebound rate -so somehow these plastic airbags defy the laws of physics -or Torras has magically developed a system were there is no energy loss? -the intial impact at the corners at 3ft was 11.0N -that's 14% higher than average -now despite the airbags, the case didn't rotate as much as I thought -because the rotation rate was average -when it came to settling down, the rate was 55% faster than average -and because of that the total force going into the iPhone was a hair below average -so is this a good result? -I don't think so -a good case dampens the drop, the air bags on this case act like springs -the only thing the air bags are good for is preventing the case from looking damaged which is what most case manufacturers are going for -for face drops -the edges of this case have very little flex -so it passes -intial impact is 42% lower -settling rate is 34% better -and the total force is 14% lower for face first drops -marvelous! -for the camera lump, Torras only has the PC back around it -though it looks like it's multiple layers -which helps because -the initial I'm pact is 30% lower -but because it its a PC back, the settling rate is 7% worse -BUT the overall force is 15% lower than average -so the case is decent for face and camera lump drops -but given corner drops are the most common, the high initial impact for each drop is worrisome for me -corners on the case are big at 3.7mm -mind you most of the corner is air -the back is 2.9mm thick which is a hair above average -for rigidity -this case was average -which is neat to see because the stand is baked into the back -for magsafe, takes 7.1N to pull, 6.9 to push -that's 30% below average -these magnets are so weak that I'd be wary using a simple wallet on it... -maybe I got a bad case because what I see is far from whatever 18N marketing fluff torras touts -case has flow thru buttons -there's a bit of lateral wiggle that's a bit more noticeable compared to other Torras cases -prot cutout can handle any size cable -and is pretty comfortable for the pinky -screen access is great because of the super low edges
