Memphis on the other hand had their struggles in the bubble, winning only twice and dropping from 8th to 9th. However, rules of the restart stated that if the 8th & 9th seeds ended within 4 games of each other there would then be a play-in miniseries for the outright 8th spot. Portland only needs to win once while Memphis will have to win twice to reclaim the 8th spot. The last time the NBA had a play-in game for the playoffs was 1956. Reviving the concept is a great idea to add even more excitement to the restart!
