Lots of cloud species represented today! Beautiful cirrocumulus and lenticulars start the day out, followed by the wispy cirrostratus. Altostratus comes in from due west while the cirrus level comes from due south - lots of wind shear! Asperatus shapes appear starting at around 01:17. Day remains overcast with the two layers continuing in different directions. Suddenly, it's cumulus and then clearing and then another wave of altostratus/altocumulus rolls in and produces rain. An intermittent rainbow blinks off/on. Rain curtains are finally evident at 03:45. Darkness came quickly, thanks to further thickening clouds and this evening we've gotten 0.1" of rain - a lot for these high desert climes.
