In this video, I give my suggestions on how to try to cope with the triggering nature of January Diet Culture if you are somebody struggling with a restrictive eating disorder. Please note, the opinions expressed are entirely mine, and I have no background in mental health, nutrition or eating disorders. The topics I cover include possible ways to deal with adverts on social media, TV shows and leaflets. I also give my take on how to handle discussions around diet, exercise and weight loss, as well as my (very strong) opinions on labelling foods as “good” or “bad”. I also touch on the sticky subject of comments on how good or well you look, and dealing with unexpected triggers.
