Chrissie’s 3rd straight US Open Title was the last time the tournament was played in Forest Hills at the West Side Tennis Club. It was bitter-sweet because it marked the end of an era where the event had a very intimate atmosphere between Players and Fans. Tennis was on the rise, the crowds were getting bigger and bigger and the Tournament was going to move to a larger and more professional arena located in Flushing Meadows, where it is still being played up until today.
