I Do All My Own Stunts...but not intentionally While Howie was in rehab he wanted to go to the nurses station to raid their fridge. They told him they kept pudding there if he wanted it, so I walked beside him, a step behind, to catch him if he started to tip over backward. It was a very short walk, but my heart began pounding as we turned the corner by their station, and I didn’t want them to see me struggling, for fear they would take away Howie’s hall privileges without a nurse. It began pounding so hard that I was sure if anyone looked up from their phones or monitors they would see my whole body heaving, so I leaned over the back of his walker, as he sat on the seat, to make it look like I was just whispering in his ear. I didn’t want to alert him either, but it was the worst episode I’ve had yet. I had another one the next day, but not as bad. I looked back on my Apple Watch monitor and 110 bpm were the highs. Not sure if it’s accurate because my watch fits so loosely. This morning I woke up on the brink of one. I get that sick feeling as my chest starts to heave, but I kept breathing deep and it passed without going into a full on attack. Later in the morning I took out the recycling and trash and tripped while pushing the wheeled garbage can to the curb. I’ll probably lose two fingernails on my left hand, where I skidded across the asphalt hard enough to scrape black into the grooves left in my finger tips. I scraped my elbow and have a knot about the size of a golf ball on my shin, but apparently nothing is broken. I just feel so drained and overwhelmed. This afternoon I had a Zoom with Douglas and Aura from Xennial and Julian and Jennifer from Quantum Improvements. They estimate the full version of Big Cat Hero to run close to half a million dollars and are asking Epic Games for a grant. I liked everything they have come up with and just gave them a few edits on my bio and what this game means to me and big cats. They will apply next week, but it could be 90 days before they hear anything.
