The other two are Raw and SmackDown. The original promotion was called Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) and served to debut talents called "rookies" on the main roster, who were trained by WWE Superstars. After five seasons, on May 17, 2012, it was announced that FCW would be taped at the WWE Performance Center at Full Sail University, with combined talent from FCW and WWE, thus creating NXT. Its television premiere was on June 20, 2012. On July 12, it was announced that there would be an exclusive championship for NXT, called the NXT Championship, with a tournament to determine the champion. Finally, on July 26, Seth Rollins was crowned the first NXT Champion. Additionally, on January 10, 2013, a tournament for the NXT Tag Team Championship was announced. On January 31, Adrian Neville and Oliver Grey were crowned the first NXT Tag Team Champions. Also, on May 30 (June 5 episode), a tournament to crown the first NXT Women's Champion was announced. On June 20, Paige won the NXT Women's Championship, thus becoming the first champion. On February 27, 2014, the same day it debuted on the WWE Network, NXT held its first special event, NXT Arrival, and starting on May 29, NXT renamed all of its special events as NXT TakeOver. The first one didn't have any concept until the second event, which brought the Fatal 4 Way concept, then R Evolution, then Rival, which replaced NXT Arrival, then Takeover Unstopable, and the last one being Takeover Brooklyn, the latter being the first not to be based in Florida. Starting on September 18, 2019, NXT moved to the USA Network. For the first time in history, the developmental territory became a television show.
