TRANSCRIPT: My name is Gordon Phillips, occasionally I go by my initials G.L., and my role here as I'm professor of Medicine at Wake Forest and am a member of the Hematology-Oncology section with an emphasis in blood and marrow transplants. So my clinical responsibilities and specialties would be focused on patients with hematologic malignancies - usually leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma who undergo stem cell transplantation. I have a wide range of interests - especially complications in stem cell transplantation. A number of patients who get these therapies have recurrences of their primary disease, their leukemia, their lymphoma, their multiple myeloma - and some of them have very very severe complications - mainly of getting tissue from another person and that's chiefly manifest by a very unusual and fascinating disease called Graft-versus-host disease or GVHD. And at Wake Forest, I am privileged to have collaborators that will help do clinical research in this area.
