Wounded protester carried to ambulance STORYLINE: Lebanese police have fired tear gas at dozens of demonstrators who tried to reach the Egyptian embassy in Beirut on Sunday to protest against Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip. Some demonstrators threw stones at the compound, and police responded by firing tear gas in an attempt to disperse the protesters. A number of casualties were reported among the protesters and riot police. Some Lebanese and Palestinian groups have criticised Egypt for not doing enough to allow aid to enter the Gaza Strip when it was under Israeli siege.
