Aussie Bandstand regular Sharon O'Brien makes her recording debut here on the Australian sector of Pye Records in 1962. Her television debut was in 1958 and she became very popular over the years singing covers of overseas hits by the likes of Brenda Lee, Connie Francis and Peggy Lee. In 1961 a poll held by Johnny O'Keefe's rock'n'roll music program on ABC Channel 2 Six O'Clock Rock ranked Sharon as #35 on the top 100 favourite performing artists. This song was given much airplay on 2UE and made the prediction lists on the top 40's the entire year though sadly didn't make it. It was however a massive "hit" in Bathurst, NSW - where a teenager by the name of Roy Molten typed up all the sales and radio requests in the Bathurst area at the time, and although unofficial, the charts for 1960-1966 showed up on ebay recently and placed this song at #2 on the week ending in 18th of July 1962.
