[email protected] On November 12th, Ford Sales Service Korea test drove the 6th-generation facelifted large SUV, "The New Ford Explorer," released in Korea. It was a small-scale media test drive. The Ford Explorer has been the best-selling model in the US market for the past 35 years. In Korea, the second-generation model was first released in 1996, shortly after Ford Korea was established, and the current sixth generation has been imported and sold ever since. The upgraded New Ford Explorer comes in two trims: the existing "Platinum" and the sporty "ST-Line," which is being introduced in Korea for the first time. It features a 2.3L Ecoboost I-4 engine. Watch the video! The New Ford Explorer exudes confidence with its striking, rugged exterior. The front grille exudes a commanding presence, incorporating a unique pattern for each trim level to express its own distinct character. Furthermore, the wider skid plate and repositioned air curtains lower the overall center of gravity of the front end, providing a sense of visual stability. The sleek LED headlamps are integrated into the upper panel of the front grille, creating a harmonious effect. The LED taillamps also span the liftgate for enhanced visibility, while the central nameplate badge applique emphasizes the premium image. The ST-Line with the Street Package features a modern, gloss honeycomb front grille with black mesh inserts. 21-inch alloy wheels, performance brakes, and red brake calipers emphasize dynamic performance. The Platinum model enhances its appeal with subtle changes, including 20-inch wheels and a luxurious exhaust design. The interior is striking from the dashboard layout. The forward-facing layout enhances the sense of openness and increases front-row space. The ST-Line features second-row captain's seats for easy passenger entry and exit, while the Platinum offers a second-row bench seat for up to seven passengers. The third-row seat folding function facilitates seat control and maximizes space utilization. New interior finishes, tailored to each trim level, highlight the appeal of each model. The ST-Line features red stitching and Black Onyx fabric for a sporty look, along with durable, stain-resistant ActiveX® seats. The Platinum features Mojave Dusk leather in key areas such as the center console, door panels, and dashboard, creating a luxurious ambiance. Miko® micro-perforated insert seats further enhance the refined aesthetic. The Ford Digital Experience enhances connectivity, allowing passengers to focus on a convenient and enjoyable adventure. The driver can intuitively view driving information on the 12.3-inch LCD digital cluster, while the enlarged 13.2-inch LCD touchscreen display on the center console allows for easy control of the vehicle's driving environment. Wireless integration with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay allows for customization, and a wireless charging pad is installed in the center console, along with USB ports located throughout the front and third rows. The audio system is by B&O (Bang & Olufsen). An integrated sound bar unifies the front dashboard, while the ST-Line trim features 10 speakers, and the Platinum trim features 14 speakers, delivering a three-dimensional and immersive sound. The powerful 2.3L EcoBoost engine, boasting 304 horsepower and 43.0 kgm of torque, and the 10-speed automatic transmission ensure a smooth driving experience. In addition to the all-wheel drive platform, the Terrain Management System™ with six drive modes remains available. Depending on driving conditions and road conditions, you can choose from Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, Tow/Haul, and Off-Road modes to ensure a stable and comfortable drive in any environment. The Trailer Tow Package is also available, enhancing both outstanding towing capacity and outdoor usability. Furthermore, Ford's advanced driving assistance features, Co-Pilot360™ Assist 2.0, include the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®), Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering Assist, and Lane Keeping System. Together with a 360-degree camera, they assist the driver in driving safety. The price of the new Ford Explorer, which is more powerful, more attractive, and unchanged, is 62.9 million won for the ST-Line and 69 million won for the Platinum (including VAT, 5% individual consumption tax applied).
