He is full of curiosity and loves to explore and learn new things. He is good-natured, energetic, and loves his little sister Tuki. Tuki is a toddler and the youngest, sweetest member of the Pyari family. She has a deep bond with half of the eggshell from which she was born and wears it like a diaper. She keeps repeating the new words that the kids learn through the stories. She adores her elder brother Piku and follows him in most things. The series comprises stories of everyday life from the children’s perspective, as they navigate a world full of various tasks, friends, other characters, and events. Papa Pyari is a burly bird with a gentle heart. He loves his family dearly and is very nurturing towards them. He loves to cook and, as an avid gardener, also grows some of his ingredients in the front yard. He applies his deep knowledge of ingredients and cooking to philosophize on the mundane activities of life, or to offer a healing touch. Ma and Papa often do housework and other chores together and make a good team. Piku and Tuki perform several food, gardening, and homework-related activities under Papa’s guidance. Ma Pyari is the pillar of the family. She is adorable, ever-bubbling with laughter, and easy-going with the kids. She has a gift for finding simple, clever solutions to everyday household problems. Ma is artistic bent and is often found relaxing with a crochet project in hand. She also has a natural flair for repairing things, which ties in with her job as a toymaker. She is ever ready to play with the kids, but at the same time can be stern and direct with them. The grandparents: Nana or Grandpa is Ma Pyari’s father. He is a wise, enthusiastic grandfather with a ready laugh and engaging manner. Nani or Grandma is Ma Pyari’s mother - Piku and Tuki's grandmother. She speaks in a calm, wise voice and smiles often. Grandpa and Grandma live in their own house and often meet their grandchildren. Their vehicle of choice is a pedal-powered rickshaw that they pedal together. Binni is a rabbit who is Piku’s friend of roughly the same age (5-6 years). He is extremely active, even more so than Piku, and is very proud of how fast he can run or cycle. He’s quite competitive, but he is also fun-loving, full of laughter and wild ideas. Ginni is Binni’s younger brother. He is roughly Tuki’s age (toddler, about 2-3 years old) and is one of her first friends. Ginni hardly ever speaks, because he is extremely shy to begin with, but when he does speak, he has a very innocent, sweet voice. Chamcham is Piku’s best friend, of about the same age (5-6 years). She is a warm-hearted, talkative little crow, and she and Piku get along very well. Chamcham is practical, keen-eyed, and has a knack for finding things. Dodo is a squirrel. He, along with his wife Lolo, go from door-to-door with their wares, selling or bartering a variety of goods - from utensils to toys to foods. He speaks fast, with a salesmanly flair. Lolo wears anklets and jingles as she walks. Heera is a langur (type of primate/monkey) who lives near Grandma-Grandpa and helps them out in various chores. He is an agile, strong young fellow, skillful with his hands and adept at climbing trees.
