9: Installing a Wood Stove, Loft Floor, Insulation, Sheetrock and Paint on My Home in Remote Alaska.

I install a wood stove with 8” stove pipe going straight through the roof. I then build the loft floor and install the OSB floor boards after building the floor joists with Simpson joist floor hangers. I then use a pully system to pull the rest of the OSB boards upstairs. I then install 6” fiberglass insulation downstairs and the styrofoam and fiberglass insulation in the roof and put vapor barrier over it all. I install gypsum board over this, tape and mud the sheet rock work and then paint it. I move out of my condo in Anchorage and move in full time living with solar panels and generators for electric and have to cut wood often to keep the house warm while I try to get it insulated at the same time. My puppy Bingo helps a lot and he has visits with his family.
