Service for Fourth Sunday after Epiphany - 1st Feb 2026

Welcome to West Gordon Parish Church of Scotland (Alford, Strathdon, Rhynie) A very warm welcome to West Gordon Parish Church and to our Joint Service of Worship for the Fourth Sunday after Epiphany, which was recorded in Alford Church. Towards the end of the service, we shared in the Lord’s Supper together, so if you are watching at home, or catching up with the recording of the service later and wish to share Communion with us, then please have some bread and a glass of wine or juice handy and follow along with us here in the church. The service was the fourth in our series based on the book of Acts, titled ‘Ordinary People, Extraordinary Gospel’. The theme today was ‘A Moment of Opportunity’. The readings from the Bible were – Psalm 40: 3, 9-10 and Acts 8: 26 - 40 The Hymns used in the service were – ‘Guide me O Thou Great Jehovah’ (CH4 167) ‘Speak O Lord’ (GWA 58) ‘Will You Come and Follow Me’ (CH4 533) ‘When I Survey the Wondrous Cross’ (CH4 392) ‘Go Forth and Tell’ (CMP 178) ‘May the Lord Bless You’ Many thanks to Linda for playing for us and to Sue for reading.
