Draft UN Text Backs ‘International Protection Mission’ For Gaza

The UN Security Council will begin talks on a Kuwait-drafted resolution that condemns Israeli force against Palestinian civilians and calls for an “international protection mission”. The draft resolution asks the UN Secretary-General to report within 30 days of its adoption on “ways and means for ensuring the safety, protection and well-being of the Palestinian civilian population.” Kuwait has circulated to members of the UN Security Council a draft resolution calling for the dispatch of an “international protection mission” to shield Palestinian civilians.
