Grass fire threatens structures in North Sacramento
Multiple Sacramento-area fire agencies late Saturday afternoon contained a fast-moving grass fire that burned a barn, threatened other structures and prompted voluntary evacuations of homes on East Levee Road, north of West Elkhorn Boulevard, the department reports. Walter White, Sacramento Fire Department chief, said about 5:45 p.m. that the evacuations were lifted. The fire burned between 240 to 250 acres, he said.
