Northeast Ohio weather forecast: Spring will keep us on our toes

Your 6 p.m. Northeast Ohio weather forecast for March 20, 2025: After this afternoon's cold front clears the area, we'll be on the lookout for some wet snowflakes through the evening. We won't be seeing accumulation, but it's a sign that things have changed — and I don't just mean the seasons (remember spring officially started at 5:01 this morning). Friday we will be between storm systems, which will bring us some sunshine and slightly above average temperatures. Another storm system will be sweeping in for the start of the weekend and yet another as we start next week. Showers will be with us on Saturday and again late Sunday. This won't be anything that will be high impact, but if you have outdoor plans you'll need to keep an eye on the radar. And this is just the beginning. The overall weather pattern is changing. We're trending toward a cooler and unsettled period. Cold air is surging southward and this will mean an overall cooling period for us. The storm track lines up very close to us, so we'll have to endure a few waves or rain (with snow mix possible) from time to time. This pattern doesn't look to change until late next week. While none of the these fast moving storm systems look particularly significant, there will be some minor impacts — inconveniences really — until the pattern shifts again.
