This encounter comes at a time when an operation is underway in Anantnag district to neutralise terrorists who have taken positions in the forest area in hilly terrain. Three Army personnel, including the colonel and the major, and a deputy superintendent of the Jammu and Kashmir Police were martyred in the gunfight with terrorists in the valley on Wednesday. On Friday, one more soldier, who went missing during a gunfight, lost his life. Colonel Manpreet Singh, the commanding officer of the 19 Rashtriya Rifles unit of the Army, Major Ashish Dhonchak, Deputy Superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police Humayun Bhat, and a soldier were martyred in an encounter with the terrorists in the Kokernag of the South Kashmir. Now the operation to flush out militants from the dense forest area in Anantnag district has entered into its fourth day. The security forces have deployed drones and helicopters to surveil the hilly terrain and to figure out the locations of the militants in the forests in the Kokernag area of the south Kashmir district. According to a Mint report, the Special Investigation Agency had carried out searches in the upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi upon receiving information about desperate attempts by the terrorists to revive militancy in the district. The search was conducted by investigators of SIA, a counter-terrorism wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police in Pouni and Mahore tehsils, based on intelligence reports that some over-ground workers were providing logistical help and information to anti-national elements. According to a report by Mint, Reasi was cleared of militancy a decade ago but it has reportedly been witnessing the movement of terrorists in the upper reaches over the past some time. #AnantnagEncounter #Kokernag #Baramulla #Anantnag #Terrorism #JammuKashmir #MajorAshish #ManpreetSingh #Humayunbhat #Terrors #Jammu #Kashmir #Pakistan #LOC #Lashkar #HWNews To Join Youtube Membership -    / @hwnewsenglish   SUBSCRIBE to HW News English Here ► http://bit.ly/Subscribe-HWNews-English Connect With Us On: → Facebook:   / hwnewsenglish   → Twitter:   / hwnewsenglish   → Instagram:   / hwnewsenglish   → Dailymotion : https://www.dailymotion.com/hwenglish For More Videos Visit Here: https://hwnews.in/
