Mouthwatering street food at home - this juicy chicken franky and a fizzy chatpata and sweet masala soda to go with it. CHICKEN FRANKIE Ingredients 250 grams boneless chicken breasts, cut into strips 100 grams refined flour dough 2 tablespoons oil 1 medium onion, sliced 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste Salt to taste 1 teaspoon red chilli powder + for sprinkling ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder 2 teaspoons coriander powder 1 medium tomato, finely chopped 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves + for garnishing 2 green chillies, chopped 2 tablespoons vinegar Refined flour for coating 4 eggs 1 medium onion, finely chopped Chaat masala for sprinkling Method 1. To prepare stuffing, heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add sliced onion and sauté till translucent. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 3-4 minutes. 2. Add chicken strips, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder, mix and cook for 2 minutes. 3. Add tomato and mix, Reduce heat, cover and cook for 5-6 minutes. Add 1 tablespoon coriander leaves, mix, cover and cook for 2 minutes. 4. To prepare chilli-vinegar, take chillies in a bowl. Add vinegar, mix and set aside for 10-15 minutes. 5. Divide the dough into equal portions, coat with some flour and roll out into thin discs. 6. Heat a non-stick tawa. Place each disc and roast from both sides till golden brown. Transfer on the worktop. 7. Break eggs one by one in another bowl. Add salt and whisk well. 8. Drizzle some oil on the same non-stick tawa. Pour one beaten egg mixture, place one roasted disc on top and cook for 1 minute. Transfer on the worktop. Similarly, prepare with remaining eggs and discs. 9. Put some chicken mixture in the center of each prepared disc. Top with some chopped onion, drizzle some chilli-vinegar, sprinkle some chaat masala and chilli powder, fold 2 opposite edges and roll. 10. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with masala soda. MASALA SODA Ingredients 2 cups soda 2 lemons Fresh mint leaves as required 4 tablespoons kokum syrup 2 teaspoons chaat masala Black salt to taste Crushed black peppercorns to taste Method 1. Slice lemons and add few to individual tall glasses. 2. To prepare 1 portion, add few mint leaves, 1 tablespoon kokum syrup, ½ teaspoon chaat masala, black salt, crushed peppercorns and soda in each glass. 3. Serve immediately with chicken frankie.
