Scène Finale (Act IV) ‘Autumn Romance’ Concert November 22, 2025 ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Aberdeen University-Civic Symphony performed a concert steeped in sweeping romantic beauty at 7:30 p.m. November 22, 2025, at Northern State University’s Johnson Fine Arts Center Jewett Theater. Christopher Stanichar, director of the AUCS and NSU associate professor of music, directed the orchestra. The concert, titled “Autumn Romance,” featured the dreamy elegance of Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake,” featuring the choreographic prowess of dancers from Aberdeen Recreation and Cultural Center Dance Program (ARCC). Celebrating its 106th season, the AUCS is the oldest continuous orchestra in South Dakota, attracting musicians from Minnesota, North Dakota, Iowa and the surrounding region. Stanichar is the 17th conductor of the orchestra.
