The King’s visit to Edinburgh finished with a stunning Red Arrows flypast over the city’s Royal Mile. Crowds cheered and clapped as the RAF jets flew over the top of St Giles’ Cathedral where the monarch was celebrated shortly before. During the ceremony, the King was presented with the symbols of his authority in Scotland - the Crown, the Sceptre and the Sword of State. The service, which was also attended by fellow royals Queen Camilla, Prince Charles and Princess Kate, ended at around 3.20pm. It was followed by a noisy 21-Gun Salute which was fired from Edinburgh Castle abefore the Red Arrows flew over the Royal Mile and the Palace of Holyroodhouse to the delight of King Charles and the rest of the Royals.
