Reading from the Second Book of Kings (5:14-17): In those days, Naaman the Syrian went down and dipped in the Jordan seven times, according to the word of Elisha, the man of God. And his flesh was restored to that of a little child, and his leprosy was cleansed. Naaman and all his company returned to the place where the man of God was. When he arrived, he stood before him and exclaimed, "Now I know that there is no other God in all the land but the God of Israel. Therefore, accept a gift from your servant." But Elisha replied, "As the Lord lives, whom I serve, I will accept nothing." And he urged him to accept, but he refused. Then Naaman said, "At least give your servant land, a pair of mule loads, for your servant will no longer offer burnt offerings or sacrifices to any other gods but the Lord." Second Reading Reading from the Second Letter of Saint Paul to Timothy (2:8-13): Dear brother: Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, born of the seed of David, according to my gospel, for whom I suffer even to the point of being chained, like a criminal; but the word of God is not chained. Therefore I endure all things for the elect, so that they too may obtain salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus. This is a trustworthy saying: For if we die with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us. If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself. Word of God Today's Gospel Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke (17:11-19): Once upon a time, Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem and passing through Samaria and Galilee. As he was about to enter a town, ten men with leprosy met him. They stood at a distance, shouting to him, "Jesus, Teacher, have mercy on us!" When he saw them, he said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they were on their way, they were cleansed. One of them, seeing that he was cleansed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice, and fell at Jesus' feet with his face to the ground, thanking him. This man was a Samaritan. Jesus answered, "Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Is there no one who has returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?" And he said to him, "Get up and go; Your faith has saved you." Word of the Lord
