I'm starting with the Dynafit Ultra 100V3. A brand with a "mountain" heritage, robust construction, serious toe protection, and a reinforced upper: the Ultra 100 V3 remains true to the brand's DNA. The real innovation is a wider fit in the forefoot, good news if, like me, you found the fit of previous versions too tight. Underfoot, supercritical foam (EVA) and a modern drop (~6 mm) provide more flexibility and comfort without sacrificing support. I'm going to push it in alpine terrain to see if the "endurance & stability" promise lives up to it. Dynafit Ultra 100V3 review: https://www.journaldutrail.com/le-tes... As for Hoka, the Rocket X Trail is all about performance. It features a very wide and high platform (with a 6mm drop), thin lugs (~2mm) clearly designed for dry/compact terrain, and a mesh upper that I hope will be robust (not sure), but no Vibram sole. The spec sheet mentions a new A-TPU foam and an integrated plate. The price is announced at €225. The focus is clear: speed and efficiency on rolling trails, far removed from technical terrain. Field testing is coming soon to confirm stability at high speeds and the durability of the upper. Rocket X Trail JDT review: https://www.journaldutrail.com/le-tes... Finally, a quick look at the Altra Experience Wild 2: 4mm drop (yes, Altra is moving away from zero), a generous toe box, and weighing in at around 280g. The idea is to open the door to those who like a free forefoot without wanting a zero drop. And I'll finish with Yanaa (You Are Not An Astronaut): delicious French savory purees, such as chickpea/olive and lemon/olive oil/mint, with fats, carbohydrates, proteins, and minerals. I love them for training, hiking, or as a comfortable drop bag. During races and for optimal performance, I stick to a "full carb" diet (gels/drinks) to minimize digestive issues, and because the science is quite clear: you mainly need carbohydrates.
