Scientists failed their experiment, which triggers the Resonance Cascade. This event triggers a chain reaction where spacetime vibrates uncontrollably, causing spontaneous teleportation and the influx of Xenian creatures into the Black Mesa facility. Barney Calhoun survives an elevator crash finding a way to get out of the facility and attempting to escape from the Resonance Cascade Event.
