It usually happens in the eighth month of the lunar calendar, when the moon is the brightest and roundest. People believe the full moon means family reunion, so this festival is about love, peace, and togetherness. On this day, families gather to eat dinner and enjoy mooncakes. Mooncakes are round pastries with sweet or salty fillings, like red bean, lotus seed, or even meat. Eating them with tea makes the night feel very special. Some families also prepare fruits like pomelos and apples as offerings. At night, many people go outside to admire the moon. Children love to carry colorful lanterns, and some communities even hold lantern parades. The bright lanterns make the streets look lively and full of joy. For me, the Mid-Autumn Festival is not only about food, but also about family. Sitting together, talking, and looking at the beautiful moon always makes me feel warm inside.
