Wood Frogs - Spring Emergence - Nature Notes - CTnaturalist Online

Each spring massive groups of wood frogs congregate in vernal pools where they breed and lay eggs. Keep your eyes and ears open to the site and sound of these frogs when you're on a spring hike. The frogs have been hibernating just under the leaves in the surrounding forest. During the winter they freeze solid, and in the spring they miraculously thaw and "come back to life" The first thing they do is head to to the pool! (Video by Will Michael: CTnaturalist TV)
