Lineker equalises for a desperate England who had been trailing 1-0 to an earlier Andreas Brehme goal. With just under 10 mins to go, England needed a goal to stay in the World Cup, Lineker became that saviour, if only for a short while. He finishes it here brilliantly to score his 35th England international goal vs West Germany 4th July 1990. The game went to penaltys in which West Germany won, England out of another major competition that they came so close to winning.
