An electric cell is a device that converts chemical energy into electrical energy. It is the basic unit of a battery and is widely used to power small electrical devices like clocks, remote controls, and flashlights. ➜An electric cell has two terminals: Positive terminal (+) Negative terminal (−) Inside the cell, a chemical reaction occurs that creates a potential difference (voltage) between the two terminals. When connected to a circuit, this potential difference causes current to flow.
