Prosecutor: NJ Transit bus driver charged in crash that seriously injured Roseland officer | News 12

A New Jersey Transit bus driver is facing charges for allegedly causing a crash that left several people with injuries, including a Roseland police officer. The Essex County prosecutor calls the incident a senseless act that could have been avoided. Police say that about three weeks ago, NJ Transit bus driver Djimmy Evra, 40, sped through a red light and crashed into a marked police car with Officer Mark Miller inside. Miller, 29, had to be airlifted to University Hospital for treatment. Evra and three bus passengers were treated for minor injuries, according to police. The New Jersey state PBA has shared a GoFundMe created for Miller, who has a 2-year-old daughter. They say Miller needs surgery and has a long road to recovery ahead. Evra is facing fourth-degree assault charges.
