The men behind the Grand National fences
The fences at the Grand National were redesigned in 2013 to be more forgiven on the horses. Each fence takes two days to build using around 150 tones of spruce from a forrest in the Lake District. They start cutting about 7 weeks before the National and the fence builders work they way backwards around the course. Additional footage courtesy of RaceTech
