Running My First 5k After ACL Surgery

Running My First 5k After ACL Surgery

This was my first 5k since ACL reconstruction (quad graft) and meniscus repair. This was about 7.5 months post surgery, and was a big goal I set for myself to complete before the end of the year. In this I cover my race goals for my first 5k since surgery, what went well, what was challenging, and what this means for my recovery moving forward. If you're coming back from ACL or meniscus surgery, I hope this gives you a realistic look at what a return to running milestone can feel like and some extra motivation to keep pushing in your rehab. Thanks to Josh at Elite Endurance Physio for helping me work up to this milestone. If you are wanting some help returning to run, or to just improve your running performance, then reach out to Josh! He is first and foremost an experienced physical therapist that also provides running coaching, so he helps avoid injuries and works through any that might come up if you push things too hard (like me😅) https://www.eliteendurancephysio.com And thanks to my friend for running with me and helping capture clips for the video!
