Going to a nursery to shop for plants can be overwhelming, which is why I'm a HUGE advocate for shopping local. Beyond keeping money and support within our community (which is huge!), local nurseries and garden centers grow and sell plants that will grow in our environment (vs a big box store which may have them shipped from another part of the country and look pretty in store but wont live long after purchase). These local garden centers also staff people who have a LOT of experience with the plants they are selling and can help you pick the right plant for your light, soil, and water conditions. Watch today's video for a few tips on how to take cues from your own local garden center on how to find a plant that will work for your light and water conditions.
