How to forge a medieval sword PART 8: forming the blade

More swords to see here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/7208132... In this series of videos I forge a sword blade from a 1/4 inch thick x 2 inch wide x 27 inch long 5160 steel flat bar. The tang, cross section and profile are all formed on the anvil by hand and hammer. I use gas a forge and the videos are actual speed but a few heats have been omitted because of limited battery time on the camera. When the blade is complete I will upload a short video comparing the blade dimensions to the blank I started with ie: thickness, width and length. Thanks in advance to anyone that viewing.
