This Diving Hack Makes Deco Stops Actually Tolerable - DiveVolk SeaTouch 4 Max+

TheDiveVolk is market as an underwater camera housing. but my favourite hack has nothing to do with photography. I first saw it at the Go Diving Show in 2025 — and the moment I understood what it could do, I knew I had to have one. Not for the camera. For the decompression stops. I am not one of those divers who finds solitude on the deco line meditative. I find it mind-numbingly tedious. I'd already tried a Kindle in a waterproof bag. The DiveVolk is next level. I now leave it somewhere between 45 and 12 metres on the line, loaded with Amazon downloads and BBC iPlayer. I will almost not get in the water without it. But — it is also a genuine underwater camera platform. So in this review I cover both. I test it down to 50 metres (no leaks, not even a hint of one), run through the touchscreen operation with gloves on, assembly, buoyancy, the Uwacam underwater app, lighting, and — crucially — the one factor that determines the quality of your photos and video more than anything else the DiveVolk does. Spoiler: it's the phone inside the housing! The DiveVolk won't replace a dedicated camera system. But if you want something simple, reliable, and genuinely hassle-free — and you'd like to watch a film at 45 metres while you wait — it is the best solution divers have had to this problem for a very long time. Thanks to Danny Cox and ‪@Señorscuba‬ for their videos! ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ CHAPTERS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 00:00 The real reason I bought a DiveVolk 02:00 Where I first saw it — Go Diving Show 2025 03:00 Deco stop boredom management: Kindle vs DiveVolk 05:00 How I deploy it on the line 06:30 Touchscreen, audio, and gloves 08:00 Watertightness — tested to 50m 09:30 Buoyancy and assembly 11:00 As a camera housing — honest assessment 13:00 The Ucam app and lighting 15:30 Pixel 8 vs Samsung Galaxy S25 — the quality comparison 17:30 Final verdict ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ABOUT THIS CHANNEL Deep Wreck Diver explores shipwrecks, submarines, and sunken aircraft from around the world - combining technical diving with detailed wreck identification and historical storytelling.
