Overcoming solitude: Beyond Cajón del Azul and Cerro Año Nuevo - Trekking in El Bolsón

The ANPRALE Main Circuit offers a clear transition: after Cajón del Azul, the trail becomes more challenging and the environment changes. The goal of these four days was to find solitude, discover the Río Rayado valley, and reach the ridge of Cerro Año Nuevo. From the starting point in Wharton, the route crosses areas of mass tourism before becoming more secluded as you progress towards El Retamal, Los Mañíos, and finally Lake Lahuán, where the Los Laguitos Refuge is located. It was a trip marked by the decision not to rush, taking the time to learn, discover, and explore. This video shows the route through some of the refuges in El Bolsón and the landmarks of any visit to the Andean Region.
