Meet the ultimate underground architect. Let's dive underground to discover the fascinating habits, incredible anatomy, and secret lifestyle of nature's ultimate mastermind - Badger. Badgers are nature's ultimate excavators. They belong to the weasel family (Mustelidae), Equipped with powerful, stout legs and long, sharp claws, they are built to dig. They live in complex underground burrow systems called "setts." Some of these sprawling tunnel networks are centuries old and passed down through generations of badger families. Despite their stocky build, they are formidable survivors. A badger's thick, loose-fitting skin makes it incredibly difficult for predators to grab or injure them during a fight. As nocturnal omnivores, they emerge at dusk to forage. While they eat insects, small mammals, and roots, their absolute favorite food is earthworms — a single badger can eat over 200 earthworms in one night! These incredible diggers are also exceptionally clean houseguests. Badgers regularly drag out old bedding—such as dry grass, leaves, and bracken—to air it out in the sun, replacing it with fresh material to keep their setts comfortable and parasite-free. They even dig designated "latrines" (shallow pits) away from their main sleeping quarters to maintain strict hygiene. With their iconic black-and-white striped faces, badgers carry a natural warning sign. This bold pattern acts as a visual deterrent, signaling to potential predators in the dark that they are fiercely defensive and best left alone😎 Chapters: 00:00 Meet the Real Boss of the Forest 00:20 The sett, home of the badger 01:03 Badger’s cleaning obsession 02:11 The badger’s understanding of ventilation 02:36 The body of the badger 02:52 Badger’s claws 03:15 Eyesight of the badger 03:32 The amazing sense of smell of the badger 03:56 The crazy pause ability in the badger’s pregnancy 04:23 Badger has it all under control 💡 No robot voices here, that is me on the mic! 🎤 Behind the scenes: visuals for each video are unique, carefully created and stitched together out of dozens of tiny clips.
