How to create simple creases in armour. Five Minute Fix #8

Creasing armour is a staple armourer's technique. It can be seen in the earliest, ancient pieces through to the modern era and is not very difficult. Distinct from fluting a crease is an aesthetic way of reenforcing a piece, usually along its length. Similar to the way the reenforcements are often seen on car bonnets today. There are other ways of making the crease, but this is the most readily available and simplest I know of. Early on I was advised against using rotary chisels and hitting the pieces from the back with hammer and chisel. It wasn't that there is anything wrong with these techniques, but I was taught to use the stake first then turn to the other techniques. This way when the armour called for shapes the chisels would struggle with I could rely on stakes - which IMHO are far more versatile.
