The Extreme Wedlocke Rules are as follows: 1. If a Pokemon faint's it is considered dead and must be released or permanently deposited into a designated "death box" in the PC. 2. If a blackout/whiteout ever occurs, where the trainer loses a battle, the game is over regardless of whether or not there are still living Pokemon in the PC. 3. Only the first Pokemon in any given area can be caught, with the exception of any Pokemon found before you ever get any Pokeballs; a new floor in a cave, tower, etc. does not count as a new area. 4. If you already have the first Pokemon that you encounter in a new area, you cannot catch it nor any other Pokemon in that area (modified dupes clause). 5. Pokemon must be found your first time in each new area in order to be caught, with the exception of any route before you ever get any Pokeballs. 6. Recovery items cannot be used during a battle. 7. Pokemon Centers cannot be used to heal your Pokemon. This specifically includes nurses inside Pokemon Centers and not NPCs or nurses that heal through a script after battling. The PC cannot be used to heal Pokemon - it can only be used to change teams in dire conditions, such as HM requirements and deaths. 8. Only three Pokeballs can be thrown to get a wild Pokemon. 9. Only normal Pokeballs can be used, no other type of ball is permitted. 10. Free Pokemon are acceptable and do not have to be obtained the first time in a new area. 11. Game Corner Pokemon are acceptable, but only one is allowed to be obtained per Game Corner (one from Goldenrod and one from Celadon). 12. In the case of the mandatory usage of an HM, it must be taught to one of your Pokemon; if none can learn it, then another Pokemon can be temporarily used, but only for the HM, never in battle. 13. Berries cannot be used at all. 14. Battle items cannot be used at all. 15. Pokemon must be nicknamed. 16. Your Pokemon are partnered together and must fight in pairs, each made of only one male and one female, and once paired, they stick together until one dies or is released. For the sake of inclusiveness, genderless Pokemon are considered male by default. 17. Each Pokemon on the team can battle only alongside its partner, if it has one. Switching Pokemon out in battle is allowed, but ONLY for the Pokemon's partner. 18. If a Pokemon dies in battle, its partner must avenge the fallen Pokemon or die along with them; switching to any other Pokemon is forbidden, with the exception of Double, Triple, or Rotation Battles. After the battle, the surviving partner can gain a new partner from the PC if a potential one exists or a wild Pokemon. 19. If less than six Pokemon are caught and alive, the next Pokemon that can be obtained must be of the opposite gender of the first unpaired Pokemon in the team. If the first encounter in a new area is not of the opposite gender to complete a pair in the unfilled party, that encounter cannot be caught and no encounter from that route may be caught ever. If there are six Pokemon in the team (and any number of Pokemon in the PC), they must be three male and three female (each pair with one male and one female), and an encounter of any gender can be caught. For the sake of inclusiveness, genderless Pokemon are considered male by default. This rule does not apply to gift Pokemon, but they must be partnered with a Pokemon of the opposite gender. 20. Pokemon in the party may not be deposited in the PC unless they are dead, and are considered dead if ever deposited in the PC any time after their original capture, with the exception of the absolute necessity to make room for a required HM that no other Pokemon in the party can learn or to obtain something necessary to the game that cannot otherwise be obtained. The HM user or acquired gift Pokemon must be put back into the PC as quickly as possible, though, if needed. 21. If a move like Roar or Whirlwind is used in battle, switch to a new pair in battle, the new pair must finish the battle alone. 22. If you ever find a shiny Pokemon, no rules apply - you can use any amount of any type of Pokeball to obtain it. Any type of item may be kept in the bag at any given time, but cannot necessarily be used throughout the game, i.e. you can keep Ultra Balls in your bag inventory for the small chance of actually finding a shiny Pokemon; they just cannot be used for anything else.
