India Rejects Canada's Charge Over Khalistani Terrorist's Killing: 'Absurd, Motivated'

India has rejected Canada's charge that it was involved in the killing of a Khalistani terrorist in Canada last year. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs called the allegation "absurd and motivated" and said that it had "no basis in reality." The Canadian government has expelled an Indian diplomat over the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was shot dead in Surrey, British Columbia, on September 22, 2022. The Canadian government has accused Nijjar of being a member of the Babbar Khalsa International, a Sikh separatist group. India has denied any involvement in Nijjar's killing and has said that it is "disappointed" by Canada's decision to expel the diplomat. The Indian government has also said that it is "committed to working with Canada to combat terrorism in all its forms."
