How to Install Ubuntu on VirtualBox – Step by Step Guide Hello everyone, Welcome to my YouTube channel. In today’s video, we are going to learn how to install Ubuntu Linux on VirtualBox step by step. This tutorial is very useful for beginners, students, and computer science learners who want to practice Linux without installing it on their main system. VirtualBox allows us to run Ubuntu safely inside Windows or any other operating system. Now let’s begin. VirtualBox is a free and open-source virtualization software developed by Oracle. It helps us run multiple operating systems like Ubuntu, Windows, or Linux on a single computer at the same time. Before starting the installation, make sure your system meets the following requirements: You should have at least 4 GB RAM, 20 to 25 GB free disk space, VirtualBox installed, and the Ubuntu ISO file downloaded. First, open your web browser and visit virtualbox.org. Download the latest version of VirtualBox according to your operating system and install it normally. Next, go to ubuntu.com and download the Ubuntu Desktop LTS version. Save the ISO file on your system. This file will be used for installing Ubuntu. Now open VirtualBox and click on the New button. Enter the name as Ubuntu. Select the type as Linux and version as Ubuntu (64-bit). Set the memory size to 4096 MB and assign 2 CPU cores. Choose Create a virtual hard disk now, then select VDI, choose Dynamically allocated, and set the disk size to 25 GB. Click on Create. Next, select the Ubuntu virtual machine and open Settings. Go to Storage, click on Empty, then click on the disk icon and choose the Ubuntu ISO file. Click OK. Now click on Start to begin the installation process. When the Ubuntu window opens, select Install Ubuntu. Choose your preferred language and click Continue. Select Normal Installation and continue. Choose Erase disk and install Ubuntu. This option will erase only the virtual disk, not your real computer. Select your location, then create your username and password. Ubuntu installation will now start. Please wait for a few minutes until the installation is completed. Once the installation is finished, click on Restart Now. Remove the ISO file when prompted and press Enter. After restart, you will see the Ubuntu login screen. Enter your password and log in. Congratulations! You have successfully installed Ubuntu on VirtualBox.
