Positive grid - Spark amp demo - Black Cat - Janet Jackson (intro and solo only)

She may not be everone's cup of tea, but damn, when this song came out it kicked some serious pop butt. That riff and guitar solo......Legendary. Black Cat - Janet Jackson Ok! a few notes. There is alot going one here if you're interested. And Yep! All guitars were spark, zero post production. Here we go.... The rhythm guitar parts, which were recorded 3 times, comprise of 2 slightly different tones. The Left track was a slightly gainier tone with lots of chorus. That was double tracked on the same side with the bridge pickup. The Right track was a slightly cleaner and brighter tone using the split bridge and middle pickup selection with zero chorus but a real small amount of flanger. Both tones required the volume pot rolled off to about half. There were two clean guitar tracks in the middle section doing harmonies before the solo. This tone is compressor and chorus heavy and again required the split bridge/middle pup selection. The clean bit right at the end there are three harmonies. Now for the solos. Whilst I really would have liked to do some additional tone shaping with the eq pedal, the chorus was far more valuable. The dive bomb and first half of the solo I used the American high gain amp (mkIIc+) with the Clone od, a fair bit of reverb, the delay set for a fairly thick doubling effect and a decent amount of reverb. The second solo I went for the RB-101 (bogner) and Clone pedal, far less chorus and delay, but a tad more reverb. So that means, this track required a total of 5 different tones. Once again the spark did a freakin ripper job. Had a blast doing this one. Hell! I have fun doing all of them, but I'm a real sucker for an 80's solo. Anyways, enjoy! https://spark.app.positivegrid.com/pr... https://spark.app.positivegrid.com/pr... https://spark.app.positivegrid.com/pr... https://spark.app.positivegrid.com/pr... https://spark.app.positivegrid.com/pr...
