Thick Fog Leads to Partial Closure of Punjab Motorways

Thick Fog Leads to Partial Closure of Punjab Motorways Dense fog once again engulfed large parts of Punjab, including Lahore, during the night between Friday and Saturday, severely disrupting daily life and road traffic across the province. According to Dunya News, the thick fog significantly reduced visibility, creating hazardous driving conditions and forcing authorities to take precautionary measures. The situation badly affected traffic flow in several cities, particularly on major motorways. A Motorway spokesperson confirmed that multiple motorway sections were closed for all types of traffic due to poor visibility. These included Motorway M2 from Thokar Niaz Baig to Lilla, M3 from Faizpur to Samundri, M4 from Sher Shah to Pindi Bhattian, M5 from Sher Shah to Zahir Pir, and M11 from Lahore to Sambrial. In addition, the M5 section from Zahir Pir to Rohri was shut specifically for heavy traffic to prevent accidents. The Motorway Police advised commuters to use the Grand Trunk (GT) Road as an alternative route and urged drivers to exercise caution by driving slowly and using fog lights. Authorities also requested the public to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel. Dense fog further disrupted traffic on the National Highway at various locations due to extremely low visibility. #DenseFog #PunjabWeather #LahoreFog #MotorwayClosure #M2Motorway #M3Motorway #M4Motorway #M5Motorway #M11Motorway #TrafficDisruption #LowVisibility #MotorwayPolice #RoadSafety #WinterWeather #PakistanNews
