S. Korea's COVID-19 tally below 110,000, distancing rules to be lifted

코로나 신규확진 11만 미만, 거리두기 해제 The nation reported less than 110-thousand new COVID-19 cases on Saturday. According to the KDCA, the tally stood at 107-thousand 916, including 30 cases from overseas. A clear drop from the previous day which was over 125-thousand. The figures have been steadily declining since the March 17 peak of more than 620-thousand. The death toll from the virus came to 20-thousand-889. The number of critically ill patients fell by 86 to 913. Starting Monday, South Korea will lift all distancing rules, except the mask mandate, the first big step towards gradually returning to normalcy since the pandemic began two years ago.
