Protest Held outside Trump Tower after Announcement of Immigration Policy

Supporters of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program rallied outside Trump Tower in New York City on Tuesday to protest against the Trump administration's decision to end the Obama-era program. The protesters gathered in front of the Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue, waving placards and chanting slogans against the administration's announcement to rescind the program that has shielded hundreds of thousands of young people from deportation. Police handcuffed and removed a dozen protesters for disorderly conduct. Since the DACA's initiation in 2012 by the the administration of Barack Obama, nearly 800,000 unauthorized immigrants who came to the United States as children have been granted protection from deportation under the program. Earlier on Tuesday, the Trump administration announced that it would phase the program out over the next six months, leaving the fates of the immigrants in the hands of Congress. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20170906...
