Geometry Dash, Edge of the Universe By WherWin 100% (Insane Demon) (3 Coins)

I've been a big fan of WherWin for over half a decade at this point - I beat ApocalypseAfterParty at the end of July 2019 and I gave it a 6/10 for enjoyment, but he really didn't have another rated level to beat. Fast forward to my comeback to the game nearly 1 year today, I find out WherWin had a new rated insane demon, and I finally got around to beating it a few days ago now. I think this level works pretty well aesthetically - reminds me of a 1.8 or 1.9 style level with the block design and usage of player colours, as you don't really see player colours being implemented too much anymore (to be expected). This is of course because this is inspired by a level called Center of Existence by Daddepro, a 1.9 creator who did a bunch of effect levels back in the day. I think Wherwin put them to good use though, especially with the blending with the other colours that are used. This was the level that also made me put on my xmas colours as with the player colours, it makes it look very xmas-like. In terms of gameplay, its pretty solid as well. Its very timing based with some pretty unique gameplay. The ship at 20% for example is all about maneuvering and ensuring you give yourself enough time and space to weave through the obstacles. I really like how this combines a more interesting ship part with the clicks syncing to the music, a really nice touch and refreshing part (even though this ship part killed me a lot). The wave part at 24% is kinda underwhelming - it syncs well but is really easy and feels a bit out of place difficulty wise. But the drop is where the level gets a lot of its difficulty. There were some pretty hard timings, notably the pink orb at 40% and even the jump before hand got me quite a bit. The ship part at 50% also gave me a lot of trouble, and its a lot harder than it looks. It really annoyed me dying on it, you have to really commit to these large ship movements, and with the quad speed, it makes it tough to get reliable vertical movement. The rest of the level isn't as bad - the ball at 55% is a bit tough, and the mini UFO is too, and I still died on those parts quite a bit in my first session. The end is essentially just a bunch of 6 spike quad speed jumps which gave me a lot more trouble than I thought. I'm used to normal and double speed spike jumps, but quad speed jumps like these took me a long time to get accustomed too. Bit sad I've been playing this game for so long and couldn't reliably do those jumps, but whatever. And don't get me started with 98%. It was annoying to go for that last coin just because without the coin, the end is trivial, so dying there 3 times really sucked (you could tell by the last fail 98 fail lol). I was getting really mad in my first session trying to beat this for like 3 hours. I came back to it later in the day and just decided to give it a shot even though my pre-practice was not good at all, and just like that I just beat it, so that was pretty lucky. Just like APP, while the level annoyed me a bit, I feel the level is still solid and I'll give this the same rating for enjoyment as I did APP at a 6/10. I think this level with the coin route is a bit harder than APP but I'm not sure.
