by Mikaya Thurmond A medical doctor in Cleveland has some serious allegations against him. The civil suit against Doctor Raymond S. Brown claims he violated the law by committing mail, wire and health care fraud.A psychotherapist in Cleveland with the name Doctor Raymond R. Brown was concerned that the allegations against Doctor Raymond S. Brown would affect his business. The attorney for Raymond S. Brown says his client apologized for any confusion that was caused... but he maintains his innocence. Attorney Jerry H. Summers tells us well I'm certainly sorry that Dr. Raymond R. Brown has been misidentified as allegedly the doctor that is involved in matter with the federal government. That's really Dr. Raymond S. Brown who is my client.Raymond R. Brown says the confusion between the two doctors was understandable until earlier this month when the federal government filed a civil lawsuit against Raymond S. Brown. He's a good caring doctor to my knowledge he has not committed any malpractice. The suit claims he violated the law by committing mail, wire and health care fraud. There is a genuine dispute between Dr. Sean Brown and the medicare billing practices so that's what the ligation is about, says Attorney Summers.Attorney Summers adds that the Federal government accuses Dr. Brown of submitting false claims to Medicare. The lawsuit accuses Brown of requesting reimbursement for medical drugs, not covered under the patients' plans. Dr. Sean Brown has many medicare patients of course a bill is sent to medicare then an approval or denial of that involves Medicare. Summers says this lawsuit in no way affects Dr. Brown's patients. To my knowledge, there's never been a question as to whether he was a good doctor. His patients love him. We've had several write us letters and we hope several more write us letters, adds Summers.
