DATA FIGHTS!! So I actually enjoy these a lot more than KH2FM's because they're not made difficult by their gimmicks or their reaction-based requirements. Sure they require good reactions, but a lot of them stick pretty strictly to a script and with a select few you notice every attempt tends to look like the previous one. A lot of their attacks also have a pretty specific sequence that makes dodging them consistent with very few outliers. Overall, I'd say Dark Riku, Vanitas, Saïx, and Master Xehanort gave me the most trouble. Xion gave me issues as well, but she was fairly manageable. The first 3 have a lot of agility and long strings of attacks where they're not vulnerable. Master Xehanort in particular just annoys me because he's got aesthetically cool looking battle scenes, but on repeat attempts, they get pretty boring to sit through each time. If you're [un]lucky, you'll sometimes get a glitch where the area doesn't change and he just goes into whatever attack he's planning on doing without warning. So a lot of my abilities between attempts are roughly the same. The most notable differences will often be the counter I use. Generally I stick with Counter Kick because it's pretty generous on i-frames, has a weirdly disjointed and large hitbox on the last hit, and it lets you catch openings without you having to time it. I only switched to Counter Impact for Marluxia for obvious reasons, and Counter Kick for any opponents where the sluggish kick doesn't really do any favors. As for weapons, I quickly phased out Double Form Keys since Ultima just does so much damage and I really don't like the "dodge" of the forms since I've gotten taken out due to how quickly and suddenly they end. On equipment, I kept on Second Chance and Withstand Combo medals since you don't get them normally in a level 1 run. The 3rd one I should've just used an accessory with Cure Converter but I used random Firagas more than I expected to during fights. Food I quickly learned didn't matter when I had to refight Xehanort because my capture card died the first time I beat him. Apparently with my stats I didn't break the damage floor at all and with SC and Withstand Combo, HP quantity doesn't really matter. I also barely use MP for anything but cure, so having Food for that isn't that worth while.
